A two-point boundary value problem $x''=f (t,x),$ \linebreak $x(a)=A, \:x(b)=B$ is considered in presence of the so called upper and lower functions. For the specific equation a non-monotonic iterative approximation scheme has been built for one of the solutions, namely, for which the differential equation of variations oscillates.
